HOW TO BE A HIPPY IN IBIZA “I want to be a hippie and I want to get stoned on Mari-Marijuana” - the chorus from the happy hardcore classic by Technohead. Becoming a hippy in Ibiza is no easy matter as it takes money to be hippy chic and the number of available commune beds on the island is on the decline thanks to the rise of AirBnB. So here is our guide on how to become a part of the island’s hippy family.

Buy a house near Santa Gertrudis.

Santa G is considered the hippy chic center of the island and if you prefer not to live in a cave without wifi & shower then the hippy chic scene here, is for you.

Get a job working for WooMoon.

If you can pull off an artistic performance with a big smile and your face painted with the words love & peace, then you can bag a well paid job at WooMoon in Cova Santa where you will be surrounded by like minded new age travellers.

Set up a stall at Las Dalias.

Do some market research, import your product cheaply from Morocco and sell it to tourists at a 300% mark up.

Beat drums at Benirrás.

The entry level package for being a hippy in Ibiza. Just show up with a drum, join the colourful band of fellow percussionists on the beach and keep up with the beat.

Be a PR for Flower Power.

Travel around the island playing 60’s music in a loved up flower van, dressed in bright colourful clothing and accompanied by guitars, ghetto blasters and flags.
