Joseph Capriati THE MAN FROM NAPOLI PREPARES FOR LIFT OFF!

How important was your home city of Naples in your musical education?

I had no money to spend on music, travel abroad or have access to the internet, so Napoli through clubs such as Angels of Love made it possible to listen to many legendary DJs, my heroes. It gave me everything.

Tell us about the night you discovered techno…

A friend took me to Old River Park in 2003 and was the night I heard Dave Clarke, Markantonio and Billy Nasty for the first time. I walked home thinking, this is the music I want to play…

You are working on a new album for your Redimension label I hear…

It will be a variety of sounds. A track with one of my heroes Louie Vega, also Eric Kupper and Kenny Bobien, some techno and also some minimalist and breakbeat. My label has basically allowed me to be free to do my own thing with passion.

How do you prepare for such marathon sets at your own 100% JC events?

I never prepare any sets to be honest, I just go through my promos, pick some classics and then build my sets depending on the vibrations of the people and room. It is 100% experimental and I love it.
