UP, UP AND AWAY Fly over Ibiza in silent mode

It’s 8.30 AM and I’m stood in a dewy field in Santa Eulalia. A low mist rests above the surrounding hills and the sun peaks teasingly from behind the clouds, blades of grass glistening in its path. In front of me is a multi-coloured balloon that’s in the process of being inflated, and a teeny tiny wicker basket that doesn’t look strong enough to carry eggs, let alone humans. Nevertheless, within minutes I’m stood inside this basket and I’m soaring upwards through the air, deserting the earth in favour of dreamy views and sun-tinged seascapes. We float along on the breeze, enveloped by a deafening silence that’s almost as loud as the flames that keep us afloat. And then one blissful hour later we land in San Juan, having travelled around 5km across a seemingly still, windless sky. Stunned by the serenity, awed by the sights beneath us and humbled by the beauty of Ibiza from above, we slowly make our way home.
