Summer time is naturally charged full of sexual energy, but with our crazy lifestyles these days there are many factors that can contribute to a decrease in libido, including stress, toxicity from our environment, inflammation and poor diet. The good news is that there are many steps you can take to get your body and sex drive re-energised, including adding some key foods to your diet this summer. Oysters, chocolate and strawberries may spring to mind but there is no need to look too far for foods with love-inducing properties – they can be found right on this glorious island of Ibiza and have scientifically proven natural aphrodisiac qualities. They will boost hormones, positively affect brain chemistry, stabilise stress levels and increase our energy. What’s more, these foods will not only help you feel better, they will also make you look better – which will do wonders for your libido! So - here are my top seven Ibiza foods that you should be munching on to guarantee a tingle on your taste buds … and other body parts too.

IBIZA’S OWN LIBIDO-BOOSTING FOODS

Peaches: The texture, colour and summery fragrance are sexy and stimulating but these are incidental bonuses. Peaches are high in vitamin C, making them somewhat of a fertility drug for men, resulting in better sperm counts and less sperm clumping. Without going into too much detail that’s a positive thing – for swimming and swallowing.

Watermelon: Has an unusually high level of a chemical called citrulline that your body uses to produce another amino acid – arginine – which is related to vascular health. It also contains the phytonutrient lycopene and beta-carotene which both act as antioxidants protecting our cells. They relax blood vessels leading to healthier erections and, in women, have been linked to increased libido. The perfect natural enhancement for revving up your sex drive.

Avocados: The vitamin E in avocado eats helps your body produce hormones such as testosterone, estrogen and progesterone which circulate in your bloodstream and stimulate sexual responses like clitoral swelling and vaginal lubrication!
